Kem Sokha wants leaders of CPP, CNRP to discuss national issues in every three months

Give our kids a better deal
PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Kem Sokha, vice president of Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), said Tuesday that he wants leaders of Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and CNRP to meet in every three months to discuss national issues.

"I will use my position to call for the meeting because we want to have democracy through dialogue and mutual understanding," Sokha, who has just been elected as the first vice president of the National Assembly, told reporters after the session.

He said the first main issue that the CNRP has to do is to reform Constitution to ensure free and fair election in the future in accordance with political agreement on July 22, and regulation of the National Assembly.

Sokha also said he would ask to limit the mandate of Prime Minister.

There is no immediate response from CPP's official over Kem Sokha's comments.
