The doc, written and directed by Marc Eberle, follows the meeting between Australian musician Julien Poulson and Cambodian karaoke singer Srey Thy which led to the pair forming band.
Filmed over four years, the film tells the story of the two struggling performers as they attempt to make it in the music industry despite a series of cultural, personal and political struggles.
The film, which also received funding from Screen Australia, is a coproduction between Ronachan Films and Australian indie Flaming Star Films. It is exec produced by Sharyn Prentice and Angus Macqueen and produced by Richard Kuipers.
It will form part of BBC4’s Storyville strand, run by editor Nick Fraser, and air next year. Kate Townsend will exec produce
