Puth Tumneay: The Buddha's prophecy

Anonymous said...

Prey Nokor Rolum, Phnom Penh Roleay, BANGKOK KAJAT KAJAY, Sabbay Angkor [Saigon collapsed, Phnom Penh destroyed, Bangkok ransacked and happy at Angkor].

The first and second predictions had already come true for Cambodia. If the prediction is still hold true, the third one should be very interesting to see for Thailand. Just like time, it always changes, so does history. History doesn't always stay the same either. Sometimes, it changes for the better, sometimes it changes for the worse. Just as the Khmer empire fell slowly from within. And with the constant dealing with outside threats of Siem and Viet, Khmer/Cambodia was greatly reduced after 7 centuries of falling. It may appears that Thailand will be facing the same fate as Khmer once did. The higher you rise up, the harder you'll fall to the ground.

There will be a political power struggle at play when King Rama 9 (King Bhumibol Adulyadej) is gone. This will weaken the core foundation of Thailand's unity which ultimately could break apart and divide Thailand into two or maybe three seperate states, just as Khmer empire was divided into 3 nations (Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos, Cambodia) out of one large empire.

Hello,

To the Anonymous said (Friday, 8 July 2011).

It's Thursday, July 7, 2011 in the U.S.A.

I just want to clarify that the Khmer Empire get broken up into 4 countries, Kampuchea, Lao, Thailand, and Vietnam), remember that South Vietnam the so-called Kampuchea Krom is part of the Khmer Empire.

I did read about Buddha's Propecy; here is a version which match the Khmer Rouge era:
"There will be a very noisy thunder coming from the east. The overseer of the country will cross his arms and cry, shrimps lay their eggs on top of mountains, and white crows patiently wait under reeds. Bodhi trees are about to take roots, poisonous cobras make their nests, buffaloes are in hiding so they can hone their horns, and Garudas (Mythological bird) fly and search to destroy their nests. Birds lay eggs in waters, crows carry Phlè Lvear (cherry-like fruit) and scatter them all over the country. At the sight of the fruits people pick them up for savings. Only in the future will the truth be revealed to them. Angry gray monkeys practice fighting techniques, only when they see trotting horses will they go hiding; long neck white herons are showing off, claiming they know exactly how many fish there are in the water. Herons are hunting non-stop in the vast plain, disregarding the fearless roar of a lion, as they catch fish in the water without pity. Female tigers hunt in the cemeteries, hiding and waiting for Buddhism to come back. Only when thunders roar in all directions, will tigers come out of the forest. This is near the Mid-Way of the Buddhist Era" Due to shortage character allowed in the comment section, otherwise I would share the translation meaning of the riddle. It is subject to controversy.

Actually, Khmer Empire had broken up into 5 countries. These countries are Burma, Thailand, Lao, Vietnam, and Cambodia. The Khmer Empire’s southern border had reached the gulf of Thailand, the northern border reached as far as China and Tibet plateau, the Western border reached India, and the Eastern border reached China Sea.

Here is the interpretation from what I have read:
The “very noisy thunder coming from the east” as the Khmer Rouge launching a major offensive on the Lon Nol’s regime from the Vietnam direction. Shrimps laying eggs on the top of mountains are out of the ordinary, reversing all facts of life like the Khmer Rouge doing everything completely out of the norm. White crows represent good people as opposed to black crows that represent the Pol Pot’s people. Therefore, the phrase “white crows patiently wait under reeds” would indicate that the people were waiting for the Lon Nol’s government to collapse. The sentence that said “poisonous cobras make their nests” would mean that the Pol Pot’s people started to win the war and held on to their occupied territories. “Garudas fly and search to destroy their nests” would mean that airplanes were flying and searching to bomb and destroy the Khmer Rouge. The next riddle about the crows carrying “Phlè Lvear” (cherry-like fruit) and scatter them all over the country),” has been interpreted among some Cambodian communities as the era where the Khmer Rouge committed their atrocities. In order to understand this riddle, it is necessary to understand the meaning of the word Phlè Lvear first. The fruit is round with a smooth exterior appearance. It looks very appealing to the eyes. Its size is about that of a Bing Cherry. Its color changes from green-yellow to red when it is ripe. When the fruit is opened up, gnat-like insects fly out of it. Traditionally in Cambodia, when one calls a person pretty like a Phlè Lvear, it means that the person is beautiful only on the outside but very rotten in the inside. Therefore, “Crows” is interpreted as the Pol Pot’s people because they dressed up in black like a crow; “carry Phlè Lvear” is interpreted as the Khmer Rouge (who are Red Khmer like a ripe Phlè Lvear) who sound and act very friendly and compassionate externally, but in reality they are evil to the core; “and scatter them all over the country” is interpreted as the Khmer Rouge carrying their evil missions and brainwashing the people all over the country.
“At the sight of the fruits people pick them up for savings” would indicate that at first when the Khmer Rouge entered Phnom Penh people were welcoming them. “Only in the future will the truth be revealed” means that the Khmer people would find out about the true intentions and characters of the Khmer Rouge only later on. “Angry monkeys practice fighting techniques, only when they see trotting horses will they go hiding” would seem to indicate that the Khmer Rouge were preparing to fight against the Vietnamese but they would flee the moment they saw the enemy’s tanks and fighting forces . “Female tigers hunt in the cemeteries” would probably mean the wives were looking for their dead husbands who were executed by the Khmer Rouge. “Hiding and waiting for Buddhism to come back” would indicate that people were longing to practice Buddhism again.
As demonstrated in the above riddles, it is impossible to interpret the true meaning of the messages if the events have not yet happened.

Territorial boundary was much more fluid than most people thinks. Khmer Empire did cover all of today's Cambodia, much of Vietnam, much of Thailand, much of Laos, and some of Burma. But, it wasn't like we were the forefathers of those guys. Simply, we were the most powerful at that stage to have them as vessel states to us. Be careful with that because as prideful as we should be, we shouldn't fall into the mentality of master-race that some of our people like to perpetuate.

These riddle and prophecy have been told over one hundred years ago. It seems to come true for most of it. Now we are waiting to see what will happen to Thailand in the next few years. The Prime Minister, the Royal family, and the military are playing very important role of manipulating the Thai politic. It is very interesting indeed. Is this one calls a democracy? The winner can’t rule and the ruler can’t win. I call this situation a "pre-civil war."

I did not mention anything about the forefathers. Let not put words into people mouths. I just mention the boundary of the Khmer Empire.

I think the real wording is:

Bangkok rolum,
Phnom Penh roleay,
Battambang kchat kchay,
Sabbay Angkor Wat

Two things are certain, the first two of the four predictions came true. That is something that can't be contested. This prediction was made far in advance of Khmer loss of Kampuchea Krom. Prey Nokor of Kampuchea Krom had its root dated back since the first kingdom of Funan in 1st century. It was he cradle of Khmer civilization. In 1949, Prey Nokor, along with 26 other provinces of Kampuchea Krom came crashing down. In 1949, France yanked it out from the hands of Khmer and gave to Vietnam to create a new nation of south Vietnam. This was very devestating for all Khmer. It was beyond the control of Khmer king and the Khmer politicians of those days. It was a curse that meant to be. A part of Khmer was seperated. This was the first part, then came the second part. Phnom Penh was dissolved as in eroded away, or no longer has life. In April 17, 1975, Khmer Rouge regime took control of the city. A population of over half a million were being forced evacuvated to the country side leaving no one behind. What was to follow in the next for 4 years were unimagineable orgy of killings that reduced the Cambodia populations to about 8 millions. Khmer hit bottom hard. The third prediction is still remain to be seen. At this time, Thailand appears untouchable. If the predcition is correct, it will be a matter of time. What will this mean for the nation of Thais? One thing for sure, there are many signs of cracks within the government systems. The level of polarity is greater. And the final prediction may bring peace and happiness for the nation of Angkor. Cambodia appeared to have gone through the worst. We hope the curse is being lifted. Not too many nation in world have gone through many centuries of downfall and live to tell the story about it.

All of you are focusing on the 'past' too much. What was lost is a major loss, and nothing we can do about it. We need to bury our past and move on.

Anonymous said...

It will only come true if you choose to believe it and do nothing about it. You can always change the course of history if collectively you determine enough to do it. Look at the belief in the Western World, they believe that they conquer anything with their ingenuity and firepower. Asian culture, especially Khmer, we succumb to the ghost and spiritual world and many still rely of faith and destiny. This is our inherit weakness that we must overcome.

I am 67 years old. I was born in Srok Khmer. When I was there, I had always heard about this prophecy: the first two (Prey Nokor and Phnom-Penh) came true as predicted and I'll wait and see what will happen to the third one ( the clever dick who despises Khmer).
It will his turn soon.

Well....let look at the belief in the Western World, they believe that they conquer anything with their ingenuity and firepower. This is no difference than the belief of Khmer during Angkor era. If Khmer during that time believed that they wouldn't be able to build Angkor Wat and many other countless temples inside their empire, Cambodia wouldn't have Angkor Wat, and Khmer would never earned the bragging right as " Wonder of the World", correct? From then and now, what has happened to Khmer. Appearantly, something came true. Hmmm..could it be the prophecy. From now, if the prophecy predicted that Khmer will enjoy peace and happiness and damn Thailand, then more likely, that might come true.

Let look at the Western world again. I'm sure we're quite familiar with the European colonialism around the world in the last severval centuries. What happened? England, Spain, France, and Portugal were once thought they were invicible with all the territories claimed around the world. Now, beside the countries they once influenced, they all have almost nothing except the orginal land of their own, at the same time facing threats of losing their own cultures and identity from immigrations of the countries they once colonized. Imagine that. We could say, " What comes around, will goes around."

America is also going through its own doom and gloom predictions. America is seeing itself slipping away from first place of world superpower. As predicted by Biblical prophercy, China will invade America. In what term is the question. Appearantly, China is taking over the world by storm in economic front. Could this be the invasion of America by China or something more sinister? We have to wait and see. let not being naive. The point is, you can believe what you want of your own fate or your nation's fate. But this believe cannot escape the ultimate outcome, your Karma. Your Karma dictate your fate.

Bible prediction: the end of the world

Western influence decline mainly due to their geographic locations distances from their colonies. Do you think that the Vietnamese and the Thai will decline in this fashion and benefits Khmer based on their geographic location to us. Don't forget about their population sizes, which are 6-8 times larger than Khmer respectively.

As for America, do you see them ceding any land back to the Mexican or the Indian? I don't think so.

Yea, what comes around, will goes around, maybe, but fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your belief, you or I won't live to see it.

As for China invading America, I doubt it. The bible also predict the end of the world is coming along with a lot of other prophecies as well. Maybe our conversation is meaningless here.

I may agree with you in Khmer belief during the Angkor period, but we're so way off from that now. We're lucky to just keep what we have into the foreseeable future, especially with the neighbors population kept on growing much faster than our. The only possibly way is if there is a third world war where somehow the Vietnamese and Thai will get destroyed and as a result, we can benefits from it.

Floods in Cambodia & Thailand show that, according to Puth tumneay from my grand parents told me when I was in elementary school in Cambodia, this is the first stage of upcoming Bangkok Kchatt Kchay event. They said
there would be a 7 days&nights of heavy rainstorms to wash off all slimes from stones (leang sle leang thmar period). After that Neak mean bonn will take over. I did not agree and thought that it was a joke until thing had happened in both countries but when Neak mean bonn arrive? Who is He? She? I guess just wait and see? It's been over 40yrs already...
