Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen's two eldest sons were promoted in the military rank, according to the latest edition of the Royal Gazette on Wednesday.

Eldest son Hun Manet, 35, was promoted from major general to lieutenant general in the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces on June 19, and second eldest son Hun Manith, 31, was promoted from colonel to brigadier general on June 12, said the Royal Decree signed by King Norodom Sihamoni.

Lt. Gen Hun Manet is seen a quick rise in military rank. Political analysts believe that he is being groomed to eventually take his father's place.

He currently holds the positions of deputy commander of the Headquarters of Infantry, deputy commander of Prime Minister Hun Sen's Bodyguard Unit and the head of Anti-Terrorism Unit.

He graduated from West Point Military Academy in the United States in 1999 and obtained his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Bristol, the United Kingdom.

Brig. Gen. Hun Manith is currently deputy chief of the Defense Ministry's Intelligence Department.

While Hun Sen's youngest son, Hun Many, 30, led the ruling Cambodian People's Party's Youth Movement. He is now standing as a parliamentary candidate for the general election on Sunday this week.

I don't care if he graduated from West Point or not...your sons need to earn his rank not through cheating. Your sons has no experience in warfare or what so ever so therefore he cannot just get promote like that. He will not get the respect from others.
