Maryland Traditions Folklife Festival is this Saturday in Baltimore.
A group of musicians and dancers from Colesville’s Cambodian Buddhist Society will perform in Baltimore at Maryland Traditions Folklife Festival this weekend.
Playing pinpeat, which is a form of classical Cambodian music, the
award-winning performers will be part of an international lineup at the
festival. Other artists at the festival will perform doo-wop, salsa and
other styles of music, while screen painters, carvers and food vendors
will also have their wares available.
A spokesperson for the group said many of the musicians and dancers
at the Cambodian Buddhist Society arrived in Maryland during the 1970s
as refugees.
