TNS has opened its first office in Cambodia,
through a partnership with local market and social research firm MSD,
which has a network of locations across the country.
Chris
Riquier, CEO of TNS Asia Pacific, explained that the office launch
follows ten years of growing interest in the firm’s offerings in
Cambodia, previously serviced through its Vietnam operation. Through the
partnership with Phnom Penh-headquartered MSD, TNS will gain access to
Khmer insights and national coverage.
The new office will be led by Ralf Matthaes, who has worked for TNS
since 1996. Most recently, he served as MD for Vietnam and Malaysia, and
he now becomes Regional Managing Director for Indochina.
Matthaes is
supported by Cambodian Managing Director Eelco Dijkhuizen, who was
previously Research Director at Synovate Vietnam, and before this worked
as a Group Account Director at TNS in Vietnam.
Commenting on the launch, Matthaes said: ‘More and more of our
global clients are now moving into Cambodia and it is essential to have
an on the ground presence to better service their increasing needs. Our
clients will have full access to TNS’s proprietary research solutions
and will also benefit from our regional expertise, including consumer,
public and social, and technology-based research.’
