“They say it would be better to die and live as ghosts serving Khmers rather than dogs serving Vietnam. They say this as if I am serving Vietnam” (!)
Hun Sen
If it's
just a question of following "old maps", and the borderline with
Vietnam has been set properly on the basis of those maps, then there's no
reason to keep this demarcation off limit to independent verifiers.
Whenever
the leader of the country warns of Vietnam's attack or threatens to imprison
anyone [which he had done in the past] should they interfere with the
demarcation process or remove the border markers, he merely reinforces instead
of invalidating the charge that he is “working for Vietnam”.
Nobody
in their right mind would want Cambodia to go to war with Vietnam [and I don't
believe Vietnam really wants to go to war with Cambodia either, especially if
it's to do with a bunch of unarmed protesters or independent border inspectors insisting
that the markers are put in places that do not result in either country's
territorial integrity being violated]. By refusing to set up an independent
committee to oversee this demarcation business, Mr Hun Sen is clearly ducking
it as a public and national issue of vital repercussions to the nation just as
he has done over the Bavet shooting incident, the Chea Vichea case, the Chut
Vutty murder, and so forth. If, however, he were to be consistent with his own
line of logic, he should never have to send troops to defend Preah Vihear in
the first place because Thailand poses the same scale of physical threat to
Cambodia as does Vietnam in strategic terms, and Bangkok would be mad [just as
would be Hanoi] if it seriously believes that an all-out invasion offers viable
long-term political solution over territorial issues with Cambodia.
As long
as border delimitation with any neighbouring country - particularly, one with
historical tendency to annex Cambodian territory - remains off-limit to public scrutiny, then
people are right to conclude that something is or has been going awry and not
quite adding up. But assuming the country has to use military force to defend
all its frontiers, even if it means having to defend two fronts at the same
time, so be it! Any other responsible nationalist leadership may not like the
idea of having to send troops to two or more fronts at the same time, but if it
comes to that, I believe it would have no option but to do so whist awaiting
diplomatic settlement through due international procedures. What is beyond
amusement is that this despicable regime has not even raised an eye brow in
over 30 years of its existence whenever Vietnam forced Khmer farmers off their
ancestral lands and farms [see places like Memot in Kompong Cham, villages in
Svay Rieng etc], or pollutes the Sesan river through a hydraulic-dam
upstream in Vietnam].
So a
small "shrinking" nation continues to be gobbled up by its neighbour,
and the leader of the nation remains acquiescent over all the known
infringements without condition whatsoever. But, as if that is not enough, he
threatens and persecutes all who refuse to live out their lives in slavish
subservience to his patrons in the East as he himself has sheepishly done. He
should at least have the decency to admit that he, as a person, possesses
neither the courage to question his masters’ unreasonable demands nor the
credentials to lead a critically endangered people and nation towards safety
and security.

Good analysis. I agree with you 100%. Hun Sen is not only a traitor, but is aiding and abetting a foreign country (Vietnam) to chip away Cambodian territory.
To finish off Hun Sen is easy:
1. A brave heart lone matyre
2. A short gun
3. Try to sneak into a conference hall or official ceremony in coutryside attended by Hun Kwack (with go gun at this stage)
4. After being familair with the situation for a while, say a few months or a years
5. Reckon day, cooly attend the ceremny, wait coolly or walk cooly to him and give him the historical shot.
5. That's it, you are the HERO of all Khmer. Your name will be remembered among the Cambodian Greats like Kleing Moeung, Krala Horm Kong and Jayavarman Vii.
Don't be hopeless,
I real Hero is under the making!
Who whould think Hok Longdy was eradicated that quick?
Hun Sen would be gone on the same path!
Be hopefull of our Khmer blood of Khmer Empire!
We would find a right method then we recover and bounce back!

Some serious plans:
1. While we are Khmer overseas have the previlage to read, view and echange ideas freely, our compatiots in Camobodia were blocked from these previlages. They no right to speak and express ideas on this kind of blogs.
2. Spring revolution in Egypt and Lybia should be the best lessons for us. They started virtually through blogs, face book and other social media, and they took it seriously by people outside their countries.
3. Chun Yasith and Teang Narith should be respected and considered as some sort of heroes. At least they had tried and took actions. Thus, their families should be respected and looked after by all of us. Thanks them for sacrifying their husbands, sons, father for the sake of freedom for Cambodian people. Chhun Yasith and Teang Narith should be listed among our heroes like Chea Vichea, Chut Vuthy, etc.
4. This kind of blogs are closely monitored (24/7/365) by Hun Sen and Yuon. So, any serious plan should be discused privatedly and coordinatedly among our democrates such as the Lotus Revlo, the Khmer Mchas Sroke, the Border Committee etc. Remember counterintelligence is important for all of us.
5.A short term and long-term pans should be seriously discussed. All our resources should be spent smartly and devote some for this endeavour. We should live in pain and bitterness untill the day our beloved people have real freedom and our territory saved.
6. Take action, now!

There is a name for the method that you describe. It is called terrorism. In the US, thread like this can put you in jail. You solution is short-sighted too. If you successfully killed HunSen, do you think there is no other like him, and what if the next guy is worst off? There are many badass that are waiting to replace Hunsen, and they could be more hungry dogs than HunSen. At least HunSen got his a full stomach, he doesn't need to eat as much as the next guy in line who has a big stomach to eat, and that means he can be more corrupt.
The solution here is not about killing or assasination. You need to change whole regime, and you need the whole country behind you. When the whole country is fearless, where death doesnt matter anymore, than you can hang everyone of the corrupted HunSen out there, and of course, after a fair trial in a civilized manner.
It is ok to critize HunSen and his cronies, like the SchoolOfVice, but that is contructuive criticism, not terrorism.
Dear Reader above @ 3:52 PM
Thank you for your interesting notes and insightful observations.
Regarding your point about media restrictions in Cambodia, this issue could be an important key to unlocking dictatorship as you rightly point out in reference to the use of social media in the Arab world.
Khmer people overseas and inside Cambodia must find a way to overcome this obstacle. Most overseas Khmers have relatives or friends in Cambodia and most keep in regular contact with one another by various means be it telephone conversation or through popular mediums such as Facebook as well as the occasional visit to the country and so on. I would therefore urge and encourage people to exchange and share positive, developmental ideas through such contacts if at all possible.
Further, I note that more and more young Cambodians have travelled widely and some have been abroad in pursuit of their education or training and are generally well-informed on societal issues. Being relatively affluent and well educated, this generation could form the backbone of future developmental process in their country even if some of them maybe drawn from CPP or business-commercial backgrounds. With a strong sense of ethics and social responsibility they will be more inclined to try to shape realities in ways that may differ radically from those of their own parents or grand-parents.
Thanks also to other posters for their meaningful ideas and contributions.
The process of demarcating the border is complex
and I am readily to believe that. Even both teams
play fair and stick to the rule and have good faith,
still both side will alternatively lose some and gain
some.To avoid that and to achieve good acuracy
the 2 countries will need more markers. The closer
to each others the better result. Yet if each side lose
some and gain some along the line of border, the
net result will be faire and square.
But from what I have heard,Cambodian farmers are
always lost their lands and no places that the
Vietnamese side lost their parts. Or may be they lost
theirs too but the corrupt CPP did not want to
disclose and keep the land for personal gain or worst yet
they sell on the spot to the Viets ??
So far I made the assumption that both teams play
by the rule. What if the Viet dictates the whole process?
CPP will not dare to confront Hanoi. I still remember
the line which CPP always repete and use as an excuse.
They said there is no free lunch, nobody come to help
you for free!! And now the whole picture becomes so ugly.
KPCS
KPCS. CPP celebrates the Border treaty without a fair debate or discussion. Anything under CPP regime is to serve their interest and the Vietnamese.
Dont forget CPP send Sam Rainsy into exile for protecting the Khmer farmers from illegal border post.
Will it ever be fair and just?
I wish someone can help translate all these blogs to khmers language put on newspapers for all Khmer to read,Khmers people inside Cambodia have no glue that khmers land getting smaller and smaller till one day to the size of Bunrany's Pussy,by then it will be to late...
Huncent careless if yuon took homeland or kill khmers,he is worry about his power and pay gratitude to Yuon that put him in power.
Huncent were blinded physically+mentally...
