A Vietnamese knows more Khmer history than the Khmers

Re: Former two-star generals sent to prison after questioning

If you are going to become the gangster in Cambodia; you've got to be on the right side of the gang. Otherwise, your life and protection is not guaranteed. I am sure there are many millionaire-gangsters walking around, supplying monies and building schools whenever PM Hun Sen needed it. How are you going to challenge such a powerful, well connected group? Cambodia will die from the hand of its beloved leader, the so called "patriot" to Cambodia.

What an amazing empire that shrunk to a tiny island. My Vietnamese friend work as a tour guide and he amazes me with his knowledge of the Khmer history and he knows more Khmer history and the land than the Vietnamese had taken from Cambodia then a regular Cambodian. It's kinda strange to see a Vietnamese guy telling the tourists about the Cambodian palace, Ankor Wat etc..

Isn't that one of the most important reasons why the Great Empire of Angkor, its land and people have been reduced to soon being simply a insignificant minority with no place to call country in the land of its once powerful empire?

I don't understand y the above two comments is pissed off. We Khmer people shouldn't be, instead we should be proud and greatful that another nationality person knows and is interested in our history. It doesn't matter if they are vietnamese, chinese or american as long they are accepting our history. I'm Khmer living in Canada. Before I didn't know anything about our khmer empire history until I started doing some research and I learn alot about our wonderful history. It's a matter of interest and wanting to share. I have been sharing and passing the message on so everyone will know how great our khmer empire once was.
