PHNOM PENH, Nov 23 (CEN) - Prime Minister Hun Sen has told Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association President Vu Mao that the trial of Khmer Rouge leaders which started this week was an historic result of Vietnam’s assistance to Cambodia.

Speaking in a closed-door meeting at the Peace Palace Tuesday, Hun Sen also thanked Vietnam for helping Cambodia from the tragedy of the Khmer Rouge regime between 1975 and 1979.

The conversation took place on the second day of the trial of former Khmer Rouge leaders Nuon Chea, Ieng Sary and Khieu Samphan, who are accused of crimes against humanity and genocide.

What a foolish thing to say by Hun Sen. I remember there is a song I once listen to it says Vietnam blood and Khmer blood is like water and oil it can't be mixed. Daryl of USA.

No surprise because Hun Sen is Vietnam's puppet and is able to stay in power for 32 years because Vietnam is his backbone. How sad it is to be a puppet of a foreign country, especially Vietnam, a country that has forcibly annexed vast territory of Cambodia in the past. Shame on you, Hun Sen.

The land that we lost was stolen before Hun Sen. Maybe a few border poles were moved, but who cares, nobody live there.

What if the youn didn't invade, are we more happy if another 1-2 million people died? No matter who the government is, now or the future, it is a blessing in disguise that they invaded. Regimes come and go, Hun Sen will be gone in the next 10 years too. The future is bright.

Appearancely, when Vietnam, for centuries, expanded itself by taking over Champa, Cochinchina(Kampuchea Krom), and invaded and occupied Cambodia for roughly 10 years, Vietnam feels nothing was being done wrong and make justification for its actions, such as taking credit for liberationg Khmer Rouge from Cambodia in 1979, etc. In actuality, it was part Ho Chi Minh and former King Norodom Sihanouk secret agreements that got Cambodia into this really big mess. How foolish he was to trust this centuries old enemy. Now, Hun Sen is a puppet of this enemy. How foolish he is and other Cambodian to be easily blinded by this centuries old enemy. The liberation of Cambodia from the Khmer Rouge by communist Vietnam forces was just a smokescreen to coverup the true nature of this action. Matter of fact, its centuries old plans that seared deep inside minds of Vietnmese leaders such Ho Chi Minh.

When China take claim of South China Sea and islands such as Spratly and Paracel, Vietnam is screaming out loud to the world. Strange how that turn out. What is so wrong with China action toward Vietnam? After all, Vietnam has been doing that to Cambodia for centuries. It's better for Vietnam to just give in to China's wishes. Matter of fact, China should expand into Vietnam and oneday add this new highly prize piece of territory as part of China. This is the only way to stop this invasive country and people of Vietnam from further expanding into other parts of southeast Asia. What comes around, goes around. Fair enough?

Vietnam did not invade Cambodia. Polpot killed Vietnamese at the borders and that was the reason why

Vietnam must use their army to freedom Cambodia and protect their people.

Hunsen just do what a human being should do. Saying thank you is not very bad.
