Hun Sen: I ain’t no Gaddafi of Libya

02 Nov 2011
By Leang Delux
Radio France Internationale
Translated from Khmer by Soch for Ki-Media

Hun Sen announced that his fate will not be the same as that of Muammar Gaddafi, the Libyan leader who was smashed by NATO and a revolutionary army. Hun Xen’s reaction took place on Wednesday 02 November, during the inauguration of the Chroy Changvar No. 2 bridge which is an aid from China.

In front of the Chinese ambassador, Hun Sen reacted to critics who compared his fate to that of Gaddafi. Muammar Gaddafi was condemned by the world for being a dictator who ruled Libya for 42 years. He was smashed and reduced to ash by rebels supported by NATO. Gaddafi also met an atrocious death.

However, Hun Sen claimed that what happened in Libya is contrary to Cambodia. He provided several claims to back up the difference. He said that (1) his health is still good, (2) Gaddafi was toppled from infighting war. He said that if there were to be a war, he would even provide arms and ammunitions to his opponents.

What Hun Sen meant is that war against his regime can never take place, however, by saying so, he does not support any internal war that he tried so hard to put it down.

Nevertheless, this is not the first time that Hun Sen warns his opponents who want to topple his regime either through armed struggle or through people power. Hun Sen always called on his opponents to compete for power through the election.

Hun Sen will join Gadaphi. A HOK LUNDY has already gone. But everybody still hates AH HOK.

Hun Sen, there is nothing stable in this world. Thing changes, that is part of the life cycle. Today, you are strong man, but tomorrow somebody is stronger than you. You should seek refuge through Buddha preaching and compromise with your own people and allow them to lead the country too. You are not the only leader that can lead the country. There are many potential leaders, please allow the new generation to have opportunity to lead the country too and teach them the real democracy if you are truely strong man. I would have more respect for you if you learn how to share power and groom younger generation to learn about real democracy. Think about Khmer Rouge, they killed indiscriminately yet they were toppled by the people. I know you probably wanted to claim all the credit yourself but quite honestly, Youn and innocent Khmer did the work and you took the credit. Sometime, you should quit while you are at the highest of your career because you will leave with amazing history. You can alway go back to different universities and teach after you done with your primistership like other democracy leader in the world. Look at the leaders around the world like Thailand, USA and others. What they do after their political career over? They go back to teaching and pass their knowledge to the new generation etc. This is how you spread your knowledge to the younger generation. Are you a true leader and true strong man? Only a weak man afraid to let go power. Who are you? Hun Sen, you are the only one that has the answer. Hun Sen, noone live forever in this world and all the power, fame and monies, you can't take with you when you died. The choice is yours.

Hun Sen, you arrogant prick. How stupid can you be if you actually think your regime won't be toppled. And stop claiming you run a fair election, you Saddam Hussein wannabe. Your days are numbered. We are watching you.

I totally agree with Tuk Tuk driver. If someone feel that he is strong and powerful in Cambodia, would he please use his strength and his power to help the poor, powerless and less fortunate human beings in his country. He also would allow next generation to create new ideas, new ways of doing thing to help improving the standard of living for the people in Cambodia. Remember that Greed is blind and also the mother of disaster.
