AKP Phnom Penh, October 11, 2011 –The China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) would begin by the end of this month its oil and gas exploration in Cambodia’s offshore, nearly 40 kilometers south off the coast of Sihanoukville.
According to the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)’s report, the CNOOC would start drilling an oil well in block F between October and December 2011, Mr. Mam Sambath, chairman of the Cambodians for Resource Revenue Transparency (CRRT) told media yesterday.
It is the first company that has studied the environmental impact before its exploration, said Mr. Mam Sambath, appreciating the procedure, which conforms to the regional and international standards of the mines exploration.
Cambodia hoped to get the first drop of oil produced at the end of 2012.

I guess the US didn't get the deal. China probably outbid them.
After all, all the aid from the Chinese comes with the string attached.
We need those attached strings to pull the desperate victims out of the fierce flood current!!! Be it Nylon,Teflon or even your coherent string of thought!
Drill baby drill
Free Money and donation from CHina! YAY!!
More money for other countries, while the Khmer population lives on krama and be-jeng. YAY!!!
