I praise Pretty Ma (SRP-NA) message, reaching out to friends, public, nationalists and HRP supporters to join or return to SRP.
The message questions the judgment of educated Cambodians in making their choice between HRP over SRP when SRP is a shining crystal clear real diamond and HRP is obscure and fake as expressed in SRP-HQ message:
“SRP is the only hope when Hun Sen capitalizes on Kem Sokha’s duplicity.”
Both messages send a strong signal: ”If you are not with SRP, you are with the enemy”. This is one of former President G W BUSH doctrines in combating terrorism. Used to determine who’s friends and who’s enemy, the doctrine does not lend America much support from friends inside and outside to fight terrorism. America went into its second war with Iraq with few friends and G W BUSH party lost the next election. President Obama reversed the ex-President policy, going out to apologize to friends all over the world for America arrogance.
Perhaps it is the “only me, no one else but me” attitude that fails to attract people and even drives people away from SRP. SRP suffered many defections and has a record of 2 failed relationship attempts.
Back to SRP-NA, judging from the exchanged emails between Pretty and Visal, a working relationship between our group in Washington DC and SRP-NA is damaged beyond repair. I urge SRP-NA to drop the act of inviting people to take over when confronting with a question they do not want to answer. It is unprofessional and irresponsible. I have seen this acting many times before, a tactic of intimidating people. Having served the party or the country, does not give anyone exceptional immunity. If this is not the case, then SRP should stop being critical of the Cambodian government or being negative at everything.
I agree that Visal is negative. But there is a valid reason for that: He was viciously attacked and he too has served the party the way Pretty has described, with an honorable record, strong commitment, sizeable financial and intellectual contribution. We all have served together when the SRP were in its early development stage. I have a strong impression that many people in this forum who are new to us do not know these facts (see attachments). For the record, the first SRP website was built by our team in which he was an important team player. It is unfair to him to be judged without showing all these facts. He can never accept a verdict from people who attacked him.
