Any incidents that have eventuated between Thailand and Cambodia, the Thai media and Thai government have always jumped to conclusion without verification or thorough investigation of the true fact because Thailand doesn't need to.
Thai soldiers' shooting to kill Cambodian civilians has been considered justified because they were on Thai soil and Thai soldiers were entitled shoot to kill.
In contrast, If Cambodian soldiers arrested any Thai civilians on Cambodia soil, they always claimed that they were arrested inside Thai territory because large parts of Cambodia are being claimed by Thailand and therefore Thai citizens are entitled to roam free without needing any permission from Cambodia.
The inscription of Preah Vihear temple as a world heritage site by Unesco has angered Thailand. Thai nationalists and extremists, including some political leaders, claimed that how Cambodia dare to register the Temple of Preah Vihear without Thai permission because the soil underneath the temple belong to Thailand, the air above the temple belong to Thailand and the temple itself is being claimed by Thailand.
Thais are attacking and insulting Cambodia because Thais are entitled to. This Thai arrogance is evident with the ignorant words of the Thai foreign minister, Mr. Kasit Piromya. He said on 4th February 2011: "Thais have been hitting Cambodia's heads for over 700 years because Thais were able to and not a damn thing that Cambodia can do about it".
After 4/2/11 clashes Thai Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya remarked at press conference "where did Cambodia get those BM-21 rockets from? I will send the sample to China to verify the origin of the BM-21 rockets and how Cambodia dare to fight back against Thailand or because Cambodia has the backing of 4 superpowers ?" His remarks have been televised on Thai TVs.
Any clash was always blamed to be instigated by the Khmer soldiers firing first and that the Thai side never started first. Even if the Thai side started first, the Khmer side is not entitled to fight back. The Thai side expected Khmer soldiers have to back off and let Thai soldiers take whatever they want because Thais are entitled to take everything from Khmers and Khmers are not entitled to claim it back. That is the rule set by Thais for over 700 years.
Any fighting or border issue, Thailand does not want to allow outsiders as the mediators because Thailand doesn't like the outsiders to see what Thai soldiers are doing with Khmers, inside Khmer territory, and Thailand doesn't like level playing field.

Thai actress Suvanan Kongying in 2003 said that if she was reincarnated, she would rather be a dog than be a Cambodian national. This is how the Thais view Cambodians: as animals and lower than dogs.

This posting is so true on Thai thinking of Khmer. I am Khmer living in Long Beach Cambodia Town USA . I notice some "Product of Thailand" Jasmine Rice have labels in Chinese, Viet, Laos. Except Khmer label. Yes Thai are racist toward Khmer. To Thai us Khmer is non-existence and beneath them . They try so hard not to give Cambodian any recognition. To these bags of rice that is "Product of Thailand" I just don't buy them. For the past 5 years my family have been eating either California or Texas long grain rice. I mostly bought them in 25 pounds or 50 pounds bags from Costco, SAM's. They are sold all over. Smarts & Final store is another good place to buy it at. USA rice are enriched with vitamins, so don't wash them. Instruction on the bag says DO NOT WASH. I know some of you may not like USA rice when first try. Give some time they do tastes better. I will buy Jasmine Rice again when I see the label"Product of Cambodia".
Because of Thai racist attitude toward Khmer, I refuse to fly Thai airline when travel. I don't even want to step my foot on their soil ever.

YES,The root of Thais' arrogant and lookdown to khmers stemmed from centuries of who we are being allowed ourselves to be treated like this. We betrayed, fought, bled, not know how, and killed each others. These led us to who we are today for being insulted by neighbors, history shown from 1350-1993 and currently more or less being submitted to the East neighbor.
The prospect of changing the current course is very slimmed. We are at leat 20 years behind the west neighbor. But if we all united and all sacrificed, the Thais have to think twice before acting. But we are all not here to do such devoted role. Unfortunate for All Cambodians inside aw well as outside

Let boycott Thai products (rices, etc). I live in the Boston areas, going forward I will stop buying Thais products.

I am not sure if the Thai actress did actually say that she'd rather want to be reincarnated as dog than as Khmer, but I know that Thai really look down on Khmers and think that Khmers are really lower, may be lower than dog, I don't know. The the 1980s when Khmer refugees escaped to Thailand, Thai soldiers treated Khmers like dogs, kicked beaten and then killed. This is regrettable since Khmers and Thais are the closest cousins they can be- sharing culture, religion, very similar food and language where Thai borrowed a lot of Khmer terminology and vocabularies.

As Khmer, we shouldn't be too surprise of how the Thai see us Khmer. Since we Khmer are their number 1 natural enemy, I don't see why we shouldn't see them the same way. Oviously, we Khmer have too much love and attachment for the Thai. For many generations, Siem/Thai had taught their people to hate Khmer, for what reason, only the Thai can answer that. What did Khmer do to them so bad that they have to hate Khmer so much. To me, they are not real human like you and I. Why? Because their hearts and minds are animal-like in nature. As long as they can kill the hunt and get to feed, that's what matters to them. If they have to steal, cheat, lies, and rob, they will do just that because they are thieves. They are savage animals waiting to prey on the weaks and exploit the vulnerables. The Thai attitudes and treatment toward Khmer fit this description. No big deal, we Khmer had been in this situation with the Siem/Thai for roughly 700 years now. So far they have been having the upperhand because of their dishonesty, manipulative ways, and aggressiveness that got them to where they are. They are not invincible. There will be a time when they will become weak and vulnerable, that when they will realize that they have been an animals all along. When they die, they wish to reincarnate as dogs, instead of Khmer, maybe that's why there are so many Siem/Thai dogs walking in Thailand.
Yes, if Thai can't take REALITY as we did, that's mean they are not worthed to be living side by side. I'd suggested to our government to boycott their products for good. I can't tolerate this uneducated thought that Thai have toward us. No matter how smart of how educated they have if they continue to have that feeling they are so cheap and lower than dog. I think they are really lucky to be born as dog.
