Sam Rainsy's upcoming visit to Philadelphia, PA

PRESS RELEASE

For Immediate Release
May 17, 2011
Contact: Chea Meas

To: All Media and Public at Large

From: SRP Chapter of Pennsylvania

We would like to inform our colleagues, supporters and the public at large of the upcoming visit of H.E. Sam Rainsy to Philadelphia on Friday, May 27th, 2011.

Sam Rainsy is the President of the Sam Rainsy Party, the largest opposition party in Cambodia, and an elected Member of Parliament for Kompong Cham province. In 2009, he led residents living on the border in a protest against Vietnam, as they claimed that the neighboring nation was illegally encroaching on Cambodian territory. Because they physically returned border markers to where they legally belong, Rainsy was charged with racial incitement and the destruction of public property. The Cambodian Parliament stripped his constitutionally-guaranteed immunity from prosecution, and went so far as to bar him from his seat in the Parliament. In 2010, he went into self-exile in France, and says that he will let the court try him in absentia, as the charges against him are politically motivated.

You are invited to spend an evening with Rainsy to hear updates on his current efforts for reform in Cambodia, and to ask questions about the future of the country. This is a rare opportunity to have direct access to one of the leading figures of the opposition in Cambodia.

Date: Friday - May 27, 2011

Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Location: Preah Buddha Rangsey Temple

2400 South 6th Street Philadelphia, PA 19148

If you would like more information or to schedule an interview with Sam Rainsy, please call Chea Meas at (215) 833-3669 or e-mail samrainsyparty.usa@gmail.com

One thing I want to verify I don't like Hun Sen as much as every body else I joined the army in 1979 after Vietnam Liberation Cambodia, I left the army after 9 years.

the reason I joined the army because I hate Khmer rouge they almost wipe out my families I still have a lots relatives and comrades in the army some of them in very high position .

Recently I visited my close friend he is commander in the frontline I asked him about the situation in the frontline and we talked to the extend about what if the army going to topple Hun Sen regime , He reply "Hun Sen is well rooted all the importance position is belong to his clan and a lots of the army benefit from Hun Sen" I asked him what about Sam rainsy he replied " Rainsy doesn't have charisma and his family background are not so good and the rumors Sam rainsy going to take revenge of his father dead" I asked him about the royal family he replied " all of them are useless".

The relation between the army and Hun Sen are not so friendly but they not going to fight for sam rainsy they have much concern about their families and Sam rainsy doesn't have support from the army inner circle .

Sam never try to penetrate from the inside out lay the foundation don't try to make himself popular keep low profile until one day Sam has enough Support and the time is right the coup d'état begin .

Any uprising have to have support from the army Cambodians have go throug hell because they believed and trust people with the high educations lession have been learn and they not going through the path of hell again.

In the Khmer regime no body that layed the solid foundation than his majesty the king Sihanouk but lon nol able to topple it.

Sam rainsy clowning Hun Sen from oversea and hope and hope the uprising to topple Hun Sen and he was invited to be PM .

No body going to risk their lives for Sam Ransy if there's an Uprising the chance Sam become PM is zero because the uprising leader will take credit for himself why should they risk their lives for Sam Ransy do any body know how Sam Ransy have much support from Khmer inside Srok Khmer not many .

People starting to have second thought about war the ordinary people living start improve at least very slowly Hun Sen not going to last for ever he's just 1 man sooner or later his inner circle will finish him off.

Those Khmer in the US may comfort Sam Rainsy But what Sam have achieve from that nothing any reform must come from the inner circle in srok khmer.

Now he can't even go to Cambodia look like he's in the wrong end of the stick.
