Police has arrested a man on Sunday 13th February in connection with the planting of a bomb near a stage where Prime Minister Hun Sen is due to make a speech and inaugurate a construction site for a Banteay Meanchey-Pailin Highway No. 59.
Mr. Chan Kosal, Deputy Police Commissioner of Banteay Meanchey, said at 6 p.m on Sunday, a man had planted a bomb about 1,000 metres (1 km) from the stage where Mr. Hun Sen is due to make a speech today, Tuesday 15th February, at Nimit district near Poipet town in Banteay Meanchey province. "Now, the story is a true story and the authority have cooperated with CMAC (Cambodian Mine Action Centre) and the court prosecutor. After the prosecutor questioned him and if he is found out to be involved (in the planting of the bomb), it's up to the court to take action", he said.
The identity of the arrested man has not been revealed, however, authority presumed that he is hired by someone to plant the home-made bomb.
But Mr. Or Borin, Deputy Commander of Banteay Meanchey Military Police, dismissed it as a terrorist act. "According to our inspection of the (bomb) location, (if it is an assassination plot) it won't be planted there. We cannot say it is an assassination plot. I went to inspect the location, there is nothing, there is nothing like that had happened", he said.
Mr. Ton Sihatecheak, Deputy Prosecutor of Banteay Meanchey Provincial Court, said he had not received any request to prosecute the man, but he had appointed another deputy prosecutor to take charge of the case. "(The arrested man) has not been sent to us. I have appointed another deputy prosecutor to take charge of the case. From what we have seen, the bomb was planted inside a pond and the man took it out to the of the water but he failed to inform the authority", he said.
Mr. Ton Sihatecheak said the court would have follow the legal procedures such as investigation and questioning first before it can make any decision whether to charge the man or not.

It look like a joke.He planted bomb 1km away from Hun Sen and want to kill Dek cho. It unreal.

It is not an assassination plot. Hun Sen is too paranoid. The man probably tried to plant a bomb inside his pond to catch the fish. 1km is too far from where Hun Sen stay,, so this home-made bomb can't kill someone that far. It is a joke.
Why do Kos Trol, sea and lands proximately over 10 000 km2 have been lost to Vietnam by who treaty? Why don't Cambodia goverment transparency explain to cambodia army at front line and the whole nation about this? Why don't they include this into education system? Why?
Cambodian army are fighting at front line for 4.6 km2 and what's about over 10 000km2 of cambodia to Vietnam. Nobody dare to talk about it! Why? Cambodian army you are decide the fade of your nation, Cambodian army as well as cambodian people must rethink about this again and again. Is it fair?
Kos Trol, Sea and lands over 10 000km2 have been lost to Vietnam by who treaty at 1979 to 1985 treaty! treaty! Cambodian army at front line as well as all cambodian people must rethink again about these issues. Are cambodian army fighting to protect the Cambodia Nation or protect a very small group that own big lands, big properties or only protecting a small group rather in the real name of protecting khmer nation?
Cambodian army at front line suffer under rain, wind, bullets, bombs,lack of foods, lack of nutrition, their families have no health care help, no securities after they die but a very small group eat well, sleep well, sleep in first class hotel with air conditioning with young girls message, have super health care from oversea medical treatment, they are billionairs, millionairs who sell out the country to be rich and make cambodian people suffer everyday as cambodian people know already.
Who signed the treaty 1979-1985 that result lost over 10 000 km2 of Cambodia??? Why don't they transparency inform all Cambodian and cambodian army at front line about these issues? Why don't include Kos Trol ( Kos Trol size is bigger than the whole Phom Phen with planty of natural resources ) in education program?
