The visit of Thai Army Chief Gen. Prayuth Chan-Ocha has seen military relations between the two countries improved, after 2 years of belligerency.

Cambodia has made a good gesture of releasing three alleged Thai spies during his his visit. And during a meeting with Gen. Meas Sophea, Cambodian Deputy Commander-in-Chief and advisor to Prime Minister Hun Sen, Gen. Prayuth has expressed his optimism about future good cooperation between the two militaries. He said the two sides must build peace, cooperation and friendship along the borders of the two countries. The border committees of the two countries can then begin the work of demarcating the border of the two countries.

Gen. Meas Sophea has also expressed his optimism that the two sides can strengthen friendship that can lead to the developments of border areas between the two countries.

Gen. Prayuth promised that the Thai Army will offer training to Cambodian army personnel as has been done in the past. He thanked Cambodia for re-adjusting the troop deployments along the border that led to the easing of military tensions in the areas.
