Spokesman for the Cambodian Defence Ministry, Gen. Chhum Socheat, said Cambodia's and Thailand's General Border Committee (GBC) will meet in Bangkok from 29-30 October, which will be co-chaired by Cambodian Defence Minister Tea Banh and Thai Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwan.
The GBC was scheduled to meet from 27-28 August, but it was cancelled at the heights of the war of words between Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen and Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
The agenda of the meeting would focus on border demarcation, border security and strengthening border cooperation between the two countries.
In relations to border demarcations, the GBC had agreed to urge the Joint Border Commission to speed up the border demarcation in order to avoid armed clashes and build peace along the border. Both sides will also discuss about ways to curb cross-border crimes, security on land and sea borders as well as preventing human and drug trafficking.
