Vietnamese police in Svay Torng district in Moat Chrouk (An Giang) province has invited the father of the Khmer Krom youth, 22 year-old Chau Net (pictured), who was killed by a Vietnamese village mob on 2nd September, to file a complaint against the attackers.
A source from the victim's family said that on Saturday 18th September, 5 Vietnamese policemen came to the family's house and handed the invitation letter to the victim's father and attend police station and file a complaint.
Chau Net's father, who wants to remain anonymous, told RFA on Sunday that he plans to file a complaint today against his son's attackers and demand compensation of between 50-60 million dongs ($3,000) from the attackers as well as asking the police to punish them according to laws. "(I am) going to file a complaint at Svay Torng district. They have killed us, so I wanted them to know (about our suffering)", he said.
On 2nd September, a Vietnamese village mob attacked a group of Khmer Krom youths in a racist attack, killing Chau Net on the spot, one died later in the hospital, 11 were seriously wounded and 20 others had escaped unhurt.
The Vietnamese authority only took action after Cambodian opposition party had put pressures for the attackers to be brought to justice. On 16th September, Yont Tharo, MP from the opposition Sam Rainsy Party who is a Khmer Krom himself, tried to deliver a letter to the Vietnamese Embassy in Phnom Penh to ask the Vietnamese authority to investigate the case but the embassy official refused to accept the letter and prevented him from delivering the letter to the embassy's letterbox.

I am so sad and angry to see Vietnamese kill Khmer, in a racist manner,in our very homeland.
I urge all Khmer to unite and fight back the aggressive invader out of our ancient land.
Hanoi's policy is trying to push Khmer Krom out of their land and at the same time they are planning Vietnamization program in Cambodia.
There are 6 millions Vietnamese are living everywhere in Cambodia with first class protection from Hanoi installed government CPP.On top of that Cambodia economically and politically is run by Hanoi's agents such as
Tea Banh,Vietcong,Runs Cambodian Armed forces.
Soc Kong ,Vietcong, runs Cambodian economy.
Soon you will see raw material revenues from oil, gold and others are disappearing into Hanoi/and Hun Sen's clan bank accounts.
Before you support the CPP please look at your children faces and ask questions? will they be the next ones to be killed by vietnamese in the near future just like this case?.
Will they have a country to live and called Cambodia? Where once our ancestors had been living here for thousand of years.
True Khmer
The barbaric and savages Viet dogs are racially and ethnically exterminating Khmer from Kampuchea Krom(south Vietnam).Their ambition is to not see Khmer alive walking or talking. Khmer Krom silent is Hanoi greatest strength that is why Vietnam is doing its damn-est in this practices. Khmer Krom are our brothers and sisters as of flesh and blood of the mainland Khmer. If they are being harmed, it is the responsibility of all of us Khmer anywhere in any way help and support them to be free from the barbaric Vietnameses beast. All of us Khmer should adopted a new ambition. That ambition is to free Khmer
Krom by spreading the message of Vietnam's barbaric
treatment of our Khmer people. Our ambition is to help all
Khmer and ultimately unite all Khmer and her territory. This
new ambition is a must if we ever want to exist as Khmer.
We must be as aggressive in this ambition the same way
as the Vietnamese is being aggressive toward us to take
our land and country. Unlike the Cham of Champa, we
Khmer still have a chance. Let your message go across the world to call out for international attention. Vietnam is quite clever by using Hun Sen government as a tool to assist Hanoi's ambition. Vietnam has been very aggressive in its plans to wipe Khmer Krom and Cambodia from the map of Southeast Asia. Do not let this savage beast succeed. NEVER UNDER ESTIMATED THE WILL OF THE KHMER.
It is really sad. Without pressures from the opposition, Viet authority would not conduct any investigation. Just wait and see for the outcomes of the investigation. I hope the victim's families can get justice and perpetrators punished.
I anticipated that the result of the investigation by the Vietnamese authorities will be "NO INVESTIGATION". The bloodshed of our Khmer people caused by the Youn people and its government is perpetually, and our government is doing absolutely nothing, because they are overwhelmingly in fear of the Vietnamese. The hopes will not come from our government, they must come from the real Khmer people, and sometimes it takes hostility to have another hostility subsided. We must NOW stop the oppression, control, and torture committed by the foreign government and its people.
