Prime Minister Hun Sen (pictured) has warned to those who want to stage a coup d'etat to arrest, telling them that they meet death if they try to arrest him, reports Radio Free Asia.
Speaking publicly while presiding over a meeting in Phnom Penh to discuss ways on how to protect Tonle Sap Lake, Mr. Hun Sen appeared to have referred to his accusations in mid July that he had eaves-dropped a meeting of the opposition Sam Rainsy Party discussing about his poor health and speculated that he might have been arrested or kept in house arrest when he failed to appear in public for nearly a month.
Mr. Hun Sen claimed he is healthy and strong and he threatened against any attempt to arrest him. “You dare to arrest Hun Sen? No one has any intentions to arrest Hun Sen, but if you want to arrest [Hun Sen], did you tell your wife and children yet to prepare a burial site to bury your corpse?”, he said.
Mr. Hun Sen's threats seem to be a repeat of his earlier warning to the opposition when he said he had eaves-dropped one of their meetings circulating rumours about his swine flu, A(H1N1) infection. He alleged that in that meeting, members of the opposition Sam Rainsy had discussed about a possibility that he could be arrested or house-arrested by an unnamed superpower country when he failed to appear in public for nearly a month the end of June .
He claimed that his absence from public view was because he was sick and has not been arrested as rumoured. He also claimed that even he was sick he was still working hard and had signed several documents.
