Vietnam and Cambodia have agreed to complete the planting of markers along their common border by the end of 2012.
The agreement was reached during a two-day meeting between the chairmen of the Vietnam-Cambodia Joint Committee on Border Demarcation and Marker Planting and the Head of the Cambodia-Vietnam Joint Committee on Border Demarcation and Marker Planting.
The Vietnamese delegation was led by Ho Xuan Son, Deputy Foreign Minister and Chairman of the National Border Committee and the Cambodian delegation was headed by Var Kim Hong, Senior Minister in charge of border affairs.
At the meeting, which concluded in the Cambodian capital city of Phnom Penh on June 8, the two sides reviewed the progress on marker planting over the past time while comparing notes on measures to speed up the mission.
They reached an agreement to organise a meeting on maker planting in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho in mid July and another meeting of a mapping group in Phnom Penh in late June 2010.
They also agreed to early set up a set of maps of border terrain between the two countries through an international bidding and to organise the next meeting in Vietnam in September.

It is another major concerns on our people and country as a whole, now the Hanoi gov't really want to expedite the demarcation of our border with them, it is very obvious that they have speed up the process. our people, especially our people living along the border, who else would know any better than the people living at the front-line to the invader, the innocent, the poor, and day after day, their land being taken away by the invader and there is nothing they can do about it. They have absolutely no support from our gov't. Of course, our government, the definition of "Heads of State or Government" is to embrace the responsibility to protect the interests of its people at risk from another state or regime and the "Responsibility to Protect" that sovereign state and territorial integrity at all time. In the contrary, our gov't is willing to take an extra efforts to exacerbate the problems and hardship toward their own people, by simply saying, "If the Vietnamese government or people stealing your land" you must not complain or your own gov't will put you in jail, you should not brought up a disputes against the invader. Our gov't officials, you must stop being afraid and intimidated by the enemy of your people any longer. Being the Heads of State is a serious matter, be brave, let them know that you're all NO longer taking orders from them. Start leading our nation the right way, the prosperous ways. I got carry away, let get your attention back to why they to want to expedite the border marker planting. Now, he Vietnamese know that more and more of our Cambodian people living within inside and outside of our country and including the international communities gotten to familiarized with the dirty tricks of the Vietnamese gov't and people alike, that is why they want to expedite the border marker planting, while they still have the advantage to steal our lands. OUR GOVERNMENT AND THE OPPOSITION PARTY MEMBERS SHOULD POSTPONE THIS PLANTING PROCESS.
