Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Bandung-based Jenderal Ahmad Yani Univeristy and the University of Cambodia have reached an agreement to cooperate with each other through joint research, student and lecturer exchanges, according to a report from Phnom Penh.
The rectors of the two universities, Drs Heriyono Mpsi of Jenderal Ahmad Yani University and Dr Kao Kim Hourn of the University of Cambodia, inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the cooperation on March 13, according to a release issued by the Indonesian Embassy in the Cambodian capital and received by Antara here Monday.
The two universities agreed that their cooperation would focus on creating skilled and well-adapted human resources capable of opening more job opportunities in the community.
Development of human resources was not aimed at increasing the level of qualified graduates but at developing skilled human resources capable of contributing to the people`s welfare in terms of job opportunities.
After witnessing the signing of MoU at the University of Cambodia, Indonesian Ambassador to Cambodia Ngurah Swajaya said that cooperation between the two univesities was expected to enhance not only the relations between the two countries but also to help increase people-to-people contacts in line with the planned formation of the ASEAN community in 2015.
