The Cambodian commander has demanded that Thai troops repair border marker No. 23 destroyed by the Thai yellow-shirted protesters on 8th February, reports everyday.com.

The destruction of border marker No. 23, located in border areas near Ta Moan Thom temple, has taken place on the same day Prime Minister Hun Sen was due to visit the temple.

Gen. Neak Vong, Deputy Commander of Division 42, said when 100 Thai troops moved in to Ta Moan thom temple, they had apologised to him about the border marker destruction. The Thai commander said that the reason they sent 100 troops to deploy around Ta Moan Thom temple was to protect the 500 yellow-shirted protesters who had come to protest in an area 500 metres north of the temple. They eventually destroyed border marker No. 23 during the protest.

Gen. Neak Vong said that Thai soldiers are currently repairing the destroyed border marker.

Border marker No. 23 was planted by Cambodian-Thai Technical Taskforce and was recognised by both Cambodia and Thailand.

I don't understand why the Cambodian Government allows the Thai troops to move in and out freely whenever they wanted too? Why can we send our troops to station along the border line so the Thai troops cannot move into our territory? Are we afraid of the Thai soldiers or what? Because it seems like the Thais can do whatever to us as they please and that's what I've heard every day news. When are we going to start to defend our border without the Thais intimidation??? I'm getting frustrated with our government showing weak stance toward them.
