A Thai fortune-teller foretold a war will break out between Cambodia and Thailand in 2010

Fortune-teller Soraccha Mulyu (L) and his prediction book (R).

By Khmerization

A Thai celebrated fortune-teller had foretold that Cambodia will send troops to attack and kill many Thai troops in 2010, Koh Santepheap newspaper quoted Thai newspaper Matichon as reporting.

Matichon on 12th November reported Mr. Soraccha Mulyu (Sorajak Nulyu), one of Thailand's famous fortune-tellers, as foretelling that "in February (2010), Thailand will face tensions due to misfortunes in the (Golden) Triangle....that will lead to serious incidents." Matichon also quoted Mr. Soraccha as predicting that "in April, Thailand will face inernal and external hardships....External hardships would be problems with Burma and Cambodia that will be exacerbated in May. And along the borders, there will be great conflicts with Cambodia and Burma."

Mr. Soraccha went on to predict that in August "Cambodia will invade Thailand by sending troops to attack and kill many (Thai) lives that will lead Thailand into first ever prolonged war with a neighbour for a long, long time."

According to Matichon, Mr. Soraccha made these predictions in a book he authored which will be available for sale in Bangkok in the near future.

Koh Santepheap reported that many Cambodian officials and political commentators laughed at the predictions, saying that they have no basis and truth considering that Cambodia is a smaller and weaker country and that Thailand was the one who sent troops to invade Khmer territories at Preah Vihear in 2008.

Here is the ancient and original Khmer wisdom in motion to make shame of Matichon:

Cambodia and Thailand, twin kingdoms, united since old times in perfect harmony, romance and friendship. If connected, they radiate joy and contentment.

2010, in the Christian Era, both Budhist twins will live in vanity, conceit and smugness, both looking the pleasures of the flesh.

Both nations will try to set a new relation that is unwise, child and foolish. Business will sit down as a king in both thrones and business will teach both nations the value of humbleness.

Put attention to January 1 to 12.
January to June pride and arrogance, blood and sadness, betrayals and hypocrisy. War as a ghost, too coward as too arrogant. War is not for 2010, but it will touch as a shadow.

July to December, humbleness sat down at both thrones. The chaos will bring the best of both participants.

Burma too much busy in 2010. The waters over Burma in the form of an expected Karma.

Kali Sovan, where did you get this ancient Khmer wisdom? It sounds so great, but also a bit similar to the predictions of Mr. Soraccha. May be he copied from these Khmer predictions.

This is Khmer prophecy in 4 stages. It was predicted at least 60 years ago. You decide for yourself for its accuracy.

- "PREY NOKOR ROLUM, PHNOM PENH ROLEAY, BANGKOK KAJAT-KAJAY, SABY ANGKOR".

1)Prey Nokor or Khmer Krom (South Vietnam) fell to Vietnam in form of the French signed away that territory to Vietnam in 1949.

2)Phnom Penh dissolved in 1975 when the Khmer Rouge took over. Everyone in the city was force-evacuvated to the country side and start the process slave labor and killing.

3)Bangkok, Thailand is currently suffering from a form of seperationism. There is an internal political and econimic striff. Civil wars will break out. The outcome is that Thailand will be seperated into many little pieces.

4)Cambodia and Thailand will be at war soon or later and has always been throughout the history. Cambodia had history of losing the wars with Thailand. However; this time, the victor will be Cambodia. The Kingdom of Cambodia will restore its image and will be celebrating of peace and happiness for nation of Angkor.

I don't see how Cambodia will be the victor in an armed conflict or diplomatic war with Thailand at the moment or in the foreseeable future.

With soldiers outnumbered by Thailand 1 to 3, weapons and military hardwares outnumbered by Thailand by 1 to 10 and economic prosperity and disparity is so much different between the two countries, I don't see how Cambodia can be the victor in any conflict between the two countries.

Thailand doesn't need to worry about being invaded by Cambodia. Thailand want to label Cambodia as war-minded nation who always want to fight. The fact is, it's opposite. It's Thailand who had always initiated wars with Cambodia, example, the issue of Preah Vihear. Thailand traditional enemies for many centuries are Burma and Cambodia. Burma is in a better position and better equipt mititary forces than Cambodia. Thailand had been enjoying peace and prosperity long enough, it's time to go down and let Cambodia or Burma get a chance. If and when that is the case, Thailand will find itself facing neighbors from the east and west who are bitterly waiting for many centuries to seek revenge. The revenge it will be, sweet it surely will.

8:46AM, I applaud your optimism of Thailand. You are very highly confidence of Thailand military strength, which at this moment is true to be more superior over Cambodia. I'm not saying that today's weaker Cambodia can defeat Thailand militarily. What I'm saying is fate and destiny base on prophecy will intervene between Cambodia and Thailand.

You and I know that not thing last forever. Great nations and empires fell to their knees eventually, some even wiped out forever. It would be naive of you to think Thailand can fight to escape this fate. What will be the fate of Thailand, considered its current state of economic and politic? Will Thailand remains a strong nation as it is today into the future, or became a weak and vulnerable nation prone to be attacked by its neighbors? What does Thai's prophecy says about Thailand?

12:44 PM, your opinion about the rise and downfall of a nation is right. History has shown that the great Khmer Empire and Mongolian Empire had shrunk considerably. Thailand might suffer the same fate, but not at the foreseeable future. This is what I mean. May be 50 to 100 years or more, but not sooner than that.

also I don't agree with your optimism that "this time, the victor will be Cambodia". You are talking about now, not the distant future.

Any way, I hope your optimism is right, so Cambodia can regain her greatness and re-unify lost territories in Kampuchea Krom and lost territories in Thailand.

9:21 PM, no one said Thailand will fall on its knees tomorrow, next week, or next year. There is no exact timeline in the prediction. Whenever that start, that's when. Khmer Empire slowly deteriating since the late 14th century, that is roughly over 600 years and maybe still going. I don't see how you come up with "this time" in reference to the prediction of future wars between Cambodia and Thailand. I'm optimistic that Thailand will be a weaker nation in the FOREEABLE FUTURE. That foreseeable future could be less than 50-100 years. I wouldn't be so confidence about 50-100 years from now that Thailand will fall, you're putting Thailand on a peddlestool. Pardon me, if I'm being pessimistic about Thailand. The happiness of Cambodia in the FORESEEABLE FUTURE is not neccessarily a re-unification of all the lost of territories of Cambodia. I hope your assessment of my OPTIMISM about Cambodia's future is correct, because if that is the case, heck..you're giving more credibilities to my prophecy that the prophecy itself.

1:29 PM,read your post at 3:03pm which you said: "However; this time, the victor will be Cambodia." This is where I get "this time" from.

Anyway, we should agree to disagree and stop right here.
