Fifty six Khmer Krom asylum-seekers had been arrested by Thai authority and repatriated to Cambodia for illegally staying in Thailand, reports everyday.com.
Mr. Ang Chanrith, president of the Khmer Krom Association in Cambodia, told the Reaksmei Kampuchea Daily by telephone on 13th June that two trucks had been seen waiting to transport those 56 Khmer Krom people at the borders but they have not arrived on the Cambodian side of the borders yet.
Mr. Ang Chanrith said that the total numbers of Khmer Krom arrested by the Thai authority were 61 people, but 5 have been given refugee status by the UNHCR.
One of the 56 arrested was a Khmer Krom Buddhist monk, reports everyday.com.
