Thai military evacuated Thai villagers from Kantaralak opposite Preah Vihear temple while reinforcing troops and artillery at Choam Sra-Ngam

More than 12 truckloads of Thai troops (30 soldiers in each truck) and 10 artillery pieces have been deployed at Choam Sra-Ngam in Ouddor Meanchey province. More Thai troops have also been deployed along the disputed borders, especially at Veal Entry and Phnom Trop, reports Khmer Sthapana.

An anonymous military spy said that the Thai military had also evacuated Thai villagers from Kantaralak village opposite Preah Vihear temple on the night of 26th and replaced them with troops and artillery pieces on the 27th.

The same source said that at Choam Sra-Ngam, at night time Thai soldiers had turned off all their lights. This is the time that they were secretly trucking in their troop reinforcements.

The same source said that, in the last few days a lot of Thai soldiers were patrolling the area, while Cambodian troops were watchful and remain on high alert.

At the same time, Gen. Srey Doek, commander of the Preah Vihear area, said that the military situations in Preah Vihear remain calm.
