Thai military commanders brought an apology letter to Cambodia

Note: The Thai military has on 17th February, 2009 fired 10 artillery shells into Cambodian territories near Ta Krabey temple in Ouddor Meanchey province. Mr. Koy Kuong, Cambodia's Foreign Ministry Secretary of State, said that Cambodia will lodge a diplomatic protest even if Thailand apologised. But later, after Thailand has apologised, he said that the matter is now closed. Below is the Thai military delegation, sent to meet Hun Sen in Phnom Penh to offer Thailand's formal apology for the misfiring of artillery shells into Cambodian territories. Shrewd politics. Punch you in the face and then say sorry later.

Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Sen (L) shakes hands with Dusit Kruayai (R), the Thai military's chief of communication for neighbouring countries, as Jeradej Kotcharat (2nd L), vice commander of the Thai military, and Viboonsak Neepan, the Thai military commander of its second region, watch during a meeting at the Foreign Ministry in Phnom Penh February 20, 2009.
