A 42-year-old woman was sent to the Kampong Cham Provincial Court yesterday on preliminary premeditated murder charges after she allegedly stabbed her 53-year-old husband to death on Friday as he choked her during an argument, authorities said.
Hun Saly is accused of stabbing her husband, Sreng Tam, in the side of his chest, right below his armpit, said Suon Ros, a deputy police chief in Prey Chhor district.
The two were having an argument after Saly stayed out late at a party, and her husband accused her of having an affair and tried to strangle her, Ros said.
After the stabbing, the suspect dumped the blood-stained clothes and body about 10 metres from her house. Fearing the victim might still be alive, she then stabbed him once more.
The next morning, the suspect went to sell beef as usual. When she returned and villagers told her about the killing, she began crying and asked authorities to find the murderer.
