Thailand's Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will visit Cambodia next month to boost bilateral education ties between the kingdoms, a topic she has worked on since her first visit in 1992.
Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron said yesterday the princess was due here between February 22 and 24, and is scheduled to meet King Norodom Sihamoni and Prime Minister Hun Sen.
She will also visit schools throughout the country, he said.
“The visit of Princess Sirindhorn shows the good bilateral relationship between Cambodia and Thailand, especially in the field of education,” Naron said.
The princess will provide assistance in school construction, and fund 200 scholarships for Cambodian students to study in Thailand.
She will preside over the ground-breaking ceremonies for the Kampong Speu Institute of Technology and the Kampong Chheuteal High School in Kampong Thom.
Her itinerary includes schools in Kampong Speu, Tbong Khmum and Prey Veng.

Thank you Princess Maha Chakri and Royals family of Thailand. I had always thought that Thai royals are a mixer of Khmer-Thai blood. Most Thai peoples they either don't know or just refused to accept it because Khmer peoples are considered lower than Thai peoples because we are poorer, war ridden peoples, still poorly educated, corrupted leaderships. A lots of Thai or Khmer don't realize that our two peoples are much closer in ethnic, cultures, blood than we thoughts.
Not all Thai are cruel but Siam had been cruel to Khmer refugees and migrants for decades because they looked down, talk down on us. For example I had been to some Thai restaurant and the Thai waitress just rude and bad service to Khmer customers that I had personally observed. I told myself from now on if there is no Khmer,Chinese, Vietnamese restaurant I would take my family to eat Mexican food instead. I had seen Thai mean to Khmer but I had made friend with one Thai co-worker and he is the kindness and caring person to be around. This Thai guy always made me laugh and happy. He a cool Thai person so in return we become friend. I also help teach him everything I knew about Airbus aircrafts. Just to tell you that Thai are kind heart too.
Vietnamese peoples are kind but their country tried for centuries to committed genocide on Cambodian peoples by any mean. The last time those Viets tried through ignorant Khmer Rough peasants by manipulated them and brain wash. Thai on the other hand had never had any intention to annilliate entire Khmer population.
