Loved up Beyonce and Jay Z head sight-seeing as they enjoy intimate holiday in Cambodia

The pair were hand in hand throughout the day as they soaked up culture at the Angkor Wat.

On Saturday, the 33-year-old and her husband, 45, took in the sights of Cambodia's historic Buddhist temple Angkor Wat for a parents-only viewing of the ancient tourist destination.

Beyonce ditched the coats for her trip to warm Cambodia, and sported a loose-fitting animal print top and army themed trousers.

After their posing session,  the lovebirds winded down the temple's steep staircase together, gripping onto the handrails as they continued to explore the site.

King Suryavarman II of the Khmer Empire started work on the 500-acre temple in the 12th century and work ended just after his death in circa 1150. 

Situated in the imperial capital Angkor, the complex was initially intended to honour the Hindu god Vishnu but by the 14th century later rulers had converted the site into a Buddhist temple.

Today, the Angkor Wat temple - often referred to as The Eighth Wonder Of The World - attracts more than a million visitors.

Intimate holiday

It's not just us mere mortals who like to play tourist - Beyonce and Jay Z couldn't wait to grab their phones to take photos on their intimate New Year holiday this week.

The loved up pair were snapped as they headed sight-seeing at the Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and packed on the PDA throughout.

While Queen Bey got her trusty camera phone out once again (it's going to be quite the holiday album), Jay stayed close beside her and held on to his wife's hand as they walked around the stunning temple complex.

A very happy Beyonce looked her usual lovely self in a loose leopard-print shirt and khaki cut-off trousers, wearing her hair HUGE and curly and minimal make-up.

Meanwhile rapper Jay was all cool and stuff in a loose white t-shirt and navy trousers, making us all crave sun more than ever this winter.

It wasn't just the stunning complex which caught their eye, because they were also pictured posing in costume at the Fantasia attraction in Phuket, Thailand recently.

This holiday just gets better by the day.

Celebrating their New Year with Blue Ivy in Thailand, the pair took a brief trip to Burma for yet more sight-seeing last week.

Beyonce was pictured greeting children outside tourist spots in Bagan, wearing a HUGE hat and long shawl-like dress.

The pair even jumped on bikes and took in the sights with a tour group, and Bey is possibly the most elegant cyclist we've ever seen.

Performers Jay-Z and Beyonce, the “King and Queen of Hip-Hop”, paid a royal visit to the ruins of Angkor Wat on Saturday, much to the delight of their fans.

Social media was ablaze with sightings of the American couple as they strolled through the temple complex with an entourage.

“Beyonce is in Cambodia. She visited Angkor Wat. We made it,” tweeted one user.

“Saw Beyonce and Jay-Z at the top of Angkor Wat … couldn’t be more surreal if I tried,” wrote another.

Photos of the two surfaced on Instagram as they posed with adoring fans and other travellers. Some fans, however, weren’t as fortunate and narrowly missed the music icons.

“Say Buddha, Beyonce and Jay-Z were in Angkor Wat yesterday,” wrote one Twitter user.

According to local media, the duo spent two weeks in Thailand before being spotted in Myanmar visiting temples at the end of December.

They flew back to Thailand to welcome the New Year.
