PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Pro-government union leader Som Oun decided to resign from Labor Advisory Council (LAC) after ten-year in the council.
"I am proud to be member of LAC for ten years, which has actively made contribution to discussing and adopting any norms associated with rights and the interest of workers including workers' minimum wage," Som Oun, president of the National Union Alliance Chamber of Cambodia, said in a letter to the Labor Minister and president of LAC.
In the letter dated December 22, Oun clarified two factors, which led to his resignation including lack of time, and providing opportunity for the younger generation.
The LAC has 29 members including 14 members from the government, 7 from factory employers and the rest from unions.
