PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Say Chhum, first vice president of the Senate, met Friday with visiting vice president of the Senate of Japan, Azuma Koshi Ishi.
Mam Bunneang, spokesman for the Senate, said that Azuma Koshi Ishi CONGRATULATED the political agreement reached between Cambodian People's Party and Cambodia National Rescue Party on July 22, 2014.
Azuma Koshi Ishi also vowed to encourage more Japanese businessmen to INVEST in Cambodia, and provide scholarships to students and help train Cambodians, Bunneang said.
Say Chhum asked Japan to CONTINUE help Cambodia, especially the Senate institution as well as human resources and information technology.
Chhum also thanked the Japanese emperor, government and people that help Cambodia’s development in all sectors, the spokesman said.
He will also meet with Cambodian opposition leaders Sam Rainsy and Kem Sokha this afternoon at the National Assembly.
