DHAKA (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Monday morning arrived in Bangladesh capital Dhaka on a three-day official visit.
A red carpet was rolled out as Hun Sen arrived here at the invitation of his Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who received him at the airport while a tiny tot presented a bouquet.
A special aircraft of Kingdom of Cambodia carrying the Cambodian premier and members of his entourage landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at about 9.50 a.m. local time.
After the warm welcome at the airport, Hun Sen was taken to the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel through a ceremonial motorcade where he will reside during his visit to Bangladesh.
He is scheduled for a one-to-one meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart in the afternoon. Later, the bilateral talks between the two countries will be held.
Bangladeshi State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam Thursday told journalists that they are expecting to sign three agreements and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Cambodia during the visit of Hun Sen.
Of the three agreements, one will be on establishing a joint commission for promoting bilateral cooperation, another on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investment and the other on cultural cooperation.
The MoU will be on scientific and technical cooperation in agriculture sector.
This is said to be the first highest-level visit from Cambodia to Bangladesh. Earlier during her first term as prime minister Sheikh asina visited Cambodia on January 21-23, 2001.
The Cambodian premier is scheduled to leave Dhaka on Wednesday morning.
