CPP, CNRP likely to meet soon over election reforms

Give our kids a better deal
PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) – Opposition party said that it wanted to break and peacefully solve the political deadlock in the country, waiting for date setting to discuss election reform with the ruling Cambodian People’s Party soon.

The opposition showed its stance to solve the political issues after the ruling Cambodian People’s Party appealed to the Cambodia National Rescue Party to assign its representatives to discuss measures for the election reforms.

According to its statement issued Friday, Officials who would meet with technical group of the Cambodian People’s Party, included Son Chhay, Koy Bunroeun and Yem Punharith.

The Cambodia National Rescue Party also maintained its stance to demand reelection, the statement said.

However, the ruling party announced recently that re-election was impossible, but it agreed on the election reforms.

However, political analysts said that it was unlikely that both parties can bread the political deadlock soon.
