PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- The ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) announced their stance and commitment to reforming the election system for the future to make it in accordance with democratic rule of law.
The announcement issued Tuesday said that the reforms will include amending any laws related to the election such as current election laws, political parties, requests for draft laws regarding the budget of the political parties, along with other election procedures to ensure better reforms.
The CPP will adopt these procedures and are opened to receive any recommendations from national and international institutions regarding the election reforms.
The future reforms will be made through the legislative and executive branches of government and relies on the constitution as well as any existing laws of Cambodia.
The Cambodian People’s Party also appealed to the national and international communities to continue supporting the democratic processes, multiparty procedures and the rule of law in Cambodia.
