The national election body, the NEC has postponed announcing
final results from last month's general election.. possibly in a bid to
ease opposition protests.
The opposition Cambodia National Rescue
Party has challenged the ruling Cambodian People's Party's claim of
winning the July 28 election, citing widespread electoral irregularities
or outright fraud.
Bipartisan attempts to break the stalemate through a special investigation committee have also faltered.
