Thousands
of Cambodian farmers claim they are losing their land and livelihoods
to big sugar plantations, some of which are directly supplying the EU
through companies including Tate & Lyle. The company has imported
large volumes of sugar from Cambodia, where its supplier is accused of
using child labour and being complicit in expropriating land and
inflicting violence on local people, the Guardian can reveal. Tate &
Lyle denies any human rights abuses
