French Ambassador vows to strengthen further relations with Cambodia

PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Serge Mostura, French Ambassador to Cambodia, said he wanted to boost economic diplomacy between Cambodia and France.

The comment was made in a meeting on Tuesday with Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace.

Ieng Sophalet, Hun Sen’s personal assistance, told reporters, the goals of the newly-elected French Ambassador  were to strengthen relations between both governments and their citizens to continue to boost economic cooperation.

Citizens of France visits Cambodia only as tourists or for study, but none have placed investments in the country, so he vows to attract small and medium sized French companies to invest in Cambodia, Sophatlet quoted Serge Mostura as saying.

Hun Sen meanwhile said  Cambodia will always welcome any foreign investors to Cambodia.

He also called on France to pay attention to the commerce and investment sectors of the country, which are factors to strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
