PHNOM PENH, 22 February 2013 (The Cambodia Herald) -- The European Union announced Friday a
€1.1 million grant to a project promoting women's rights and
empowerment.
A statement said the €1.37 million project would be carried out by Gender and Development for Cambodia and Heifer International Cambodia under the auspices of Chan Sorey, secretary of state at the Ministry of Women's Affairs.
"I am delighted to support these two local NGOs in working hand-in-hand to help vulnerable Cambodian women," Ambassador Jean-François Cautain said.
"It is not only to improve women's lives but also to empower them. This extra support reaffirms our commitment to promote gender equality and women empowerment."
