PHNOM PENH, 25 October 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - Free Trade Union of Workers President
Chea Mony (pictured) has appealed to the government to construct a statue of the
late King Father Norodom Sihanouk.
The request was made in a letter to Prime Minister Hun Sen dated Wednesday.
Tith Sothea, of the Press and Quick Reaction Unit of the office of the Council Ministers, said Hun Sen "hasn’t expressed any position yet but it is an appropriate request."
He noted that the Royal Palace already had statues of former kings. "Citizens can pay respect to the King Father in the Royal Palace after his body is cremated," he said.

Yes, don’t waste state money for useless statue and better keep the money for corrupt government officials, right? If we listen to your suggestion we have nothing in history. it's too young to understand.
