The Cambodian Center for Human Rights
(CCHR) will organize public forum where the community villager had restrained five
of authorities.
The Cambodian Center for Human Rights
(CCHR) requests the participation of interested national and international
stakeholders in a Public Forum on Human Rights and Development at Samuth Krom
Village, Seda Commune, Lum Phat District, and Ratanakiri Province from 8:00 am
to 12:00 am on 30 July, 2012.
Over more than hundreds families have
been diversely affected by clearing of farmland from many land concession
companies, especially DM Group company without prohibition and intervention
from local authorities in Lum Phat district of Ratanaki province, where over
more than hundreds hectares of farmland are under rampantly destroying. They are
very concerned about those anarchy actions causing lost their farmland in the
short time a head.
The Public Forum on Human Rights and
Development will provide families with the opportunity to raise their concerns,
issues, questions, and express opinions to parliamentarians, local
authorities, national and international organization, and other stakeholders
who are concerned about the potential issues and desire peaceful resolution.
