PHNOM PENH, 9th July 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
International Cooperation dismissed Monday a Thai newspaper report that
Cambodia was withdrawing troops around the Preah Vihear zone.
"I didn’t know where the Thai newspapers got the information from," ministry spokesman Koy Kuong said, referring to a report in the Bangkok Post earlier Monday.
"We haven’t yet announced such a withdrawal," he told reporters on the sidelines of the annual meeting of ASEAN foreign ministers.
The spokesman also said that Foreign Minister Hor Namhong had no plans for bilateral talks with Thai Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul during this week's ASEAN meetings.
