Cambodia
and Thailand are in disagreement over whether one of two aircrafts
Cambodian armed forces fired at last night was a military plane or a
Thai Airways passenger plane.

officials said two Thai military planes had crossed illegally into
Cambodian air space over Banteay Meanchey last night, drawing what they
termed warning shots from anti-aircraft installations.

Heng, commander of RCAF’s Division 51, said the two patrolling planes
flew from O’Lahong village in Malai district to the international
checkpoint in Poipet.
“Thai planes violated our air space with
the intention of spying, but we did not shoot the planes down. We had
just shot as a warning in order to show that the planes must fly
properly inside Thai air space,” Heng said.
But a Thai army official said that Cambodian troops had actually mistakenly fired at a Bangkok Airways passenger flight.
“The Cambodian military fired because there was a Thai passenger plane – Bangkok Airways – which could not land at Siem Reap airport because of bad weather,” said deputy army spokesman Colonel Sirichan Ngathong.
He added that no one was hurt during the incident.
The
incident came a day before Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is
due to address a high-level business conference in Siem Reap.
Yingluck
will meet separately with Prime Minister Hun Sen to discuss the
long-simmering border dispute around the Preah Vihear temple.

why fire a warning shot,just shoot them down. they never fire a warning shot for our people.
It was a Bangkok bus without passenger was los on the territorial air of Cambodia and not the Bankok Airline.
I agree with post 4:57PM! Why warning shot? Thai shot an unarmed khmer people daily, there's no warning shot on our poor people?...They shot and killed our people like animals.....If you fly into some other country viet/lao/burma you will shot down immediately...No warning shot!!

No drugs, no liquors, no hot liquors, no losing memories, no poor pilots and stupid pilots or whatsoever, but, it is a trick of Thai military in order to stir things up and created the black cloud during the visiting of Yingluck, Hilary Clinton and Hun sen at Siem reap province. Brothers, think it twice.

Why our armed forces risked another arms clash. When both countries about to withdraw troops from the PREAH VIHEAR PDZ areas. You know if there is clash, Siam will make excuse not to withdraw.
They been violated our air space for many years now why risked arms clash again. They cross with intention of causing arms clash. Our forces must be patient until ICJ rules that areas around Preah Vihear belong to Cambodia.
I think if you really want to shoot down their jets, RCAF must fired MANPAD SAM missiles at them. AAA ONLY effective against helicopter, low flying slow jet.
Right now we must stay calm to avoid fighting with A KA PEK.
