Japan's Crown Prince satisfied with Japan-Cambodia close ties

Prince Naruhito met Hun sen at the Peace Palace
PHNOM PENH, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito said Wednesday that he is pleased to see close relations and cooperation between Japan and Cambodia, according to a senior official of the Cambodian government.
The Crown Prince made the remarks during a 20-minute meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen at the Peace Palace, said Khieu Kanharith, government spokesman and information minister, after the meeting, adding that Naruhito also pledged to further enhance ties between the two countries.
Japan is the second largest provider of grants and concessional loans to Cambodia after China. According to the Cambodian government's records, by 2011, Japan had given some 2 billion U.S. dollars to Cambodia for infrastructure development.
Naruhito arrived here on Wednesday morning for 3-day official visit. During the stay, he will be received by King Norodom Sihamoni and is scheduled to visit Angkor Wat temples, a world heritage site, in Siem Reap province.
Cambodia is the second leg of his three-nation tour. His first stop was Thailand and he will leave Cambodia for Laos on Friday.
