PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) – Cambodian Defense Minister Tea Banh met with Singapore Defense Ng Eng Hen Wednesday as part of his first official visit to the country.
"General Tea Banh and Dr Ng discussed a wide range of defense and security issues and reaffirmed the warm and friendly bilateral defense relationship," a joint statement said.
They also "acknowledged the value of the regular exchanges of visit(s) as well as the professional interactions between the Royal Cambodia Armed Forces and the Singapore Armed Forces."
The statement said meetings of ASEAN defense ministers and related gatherings were "key components of the regional security architecture" and "important platforms for strategic dialogue ... on common security issues.
Such meetings were also "avenues to enhance practical cooperation among the regional militaries, which would contribute towards promoting stable military-to-military relations in the region," the statement said.
