AKP Phnom Penh, February 29, 2012 –U.S. Embassy consular officers will provide a special briefing about visas to the Cambodian general public and members of the media on Mar. 5 at 3:00 p.m. inside the U.S. Embassy, said the embassy’s press release dated Tuesday.
Consular officers will discuss all categories of U.S. visas, including student visas and the Diversity Visa lottery program, it pointed out.
The U.S. Embassy is aware of recent concerns over e-mails to Cambodian citizens that claim to be sent on behalf of the U.S. Department of State or Bureau of Consular Affairs, said the press release, stressing that any person who receives an inquiry on general visa issues or an e-mail that mentions Diversity Visa or promises a Green Card should consider the contents illegitimate and fraudulent.
Cambodian citizens who receive such emails are encouraged to forward the emails to the Consular Section’s Immigrant Visa Unit at IVPhnomPenh@state.gov, it added.
