TAKHMAO (Cambodia Herald) – Opposition Sam Rainsy Party lawmaker Chan Cheng (pictured) is still not allowed to change his address or leave the country, a prosecutor said Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters after the lawmaker appeared at the Kandal Provincial Court, Kandal prosecutor Sin Virak also said that Chan Cheng had to appear in the court as summoned.
Sin Virak said the court was still examining the case which involves accusations that Chan Cheng helped a prisoner to escape from Kandal Provincial Prison.
Both Chan Cheng and his defense lawyer declined to comment on Tuesday's hearing, which was attended by about 100 activists and parliamentarians from the Sam Rainsy Party.
