Published: 17-Mar-12PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald)- Chinese President Hu Jintao (pictured) will visit Cambodia later this month before the ASEAN Summit in April, a source close the the Royal Palace said Saturday.
"Hu Jintao will meet Prime Minister Hun Sen on the 31st and he will be given a royal audience on the same day," said the source who declined to elaborate.
The ASEAN Summit on April 3-4 is expected to include discussion of the South China Sea, a sensitive issue between the world's most populous nation and the 10-nation bloc.
A political analyst said Wu could take the opportunity to explain China's position on the South China Sea.
The sea includes the Spratly and Paracel islands which are claimed in whole or in part by China, Taiwan and ASEAN members Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
A diplomat said the ASEAN leaders will discuss many issues when they meet in Phnom Penh.
"Among the issues to be discussed are the ASEAN Community, implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea, the ASEAN Global Dialogue and Drug-Free ASEAN by 2015," the diplomat said.

Great, another boss coming to make sure his dogs will follow his plan against Vietnam & other ASEAN members! There is no free lunch if any of you think Chinese investment is donation for ordinary Khmers, you're either delusional or Chinese worshiping out of insecurity. The money is for Hun Sen & cronies, and for Chinese businessmen & workers, who are flooding Cambodia. Hun Sen is trying to walk the rope by taking orders from both China & Vietnam,so Khmers will have more bosses to obey.
It's a not a free lunch but there will be lunch for Khmer people tomorrow, it better then goes hungery. And just wait for free food.

We need China to stop giving out food to Hun Sen, if they care about the Khmer people then stop supporting Hun Sen instead they should be giving out dinner to oppositions and those working with the Khmer people. Otherwise, free lunch is just empty plate of rotten fish!
12:19 PM & 6:44 PM, You still don't get it do you? There will be no free lunch for Hun Sen & cronies, and Cambodia as a nation will carry debt, monetarily & politically, to China. As for ordinary hungry people you are referring to, there is NO lunch as very very little money has trickled down to those folks, you can see all over the news if not in person.
It is frightening to think about the magnitude that has been done to Cambodia. If in the past we've been poor but at least our natural resources were not plundered as now. If in the past we were poor but we were not in big loans and big debts. All the land consessions are in the form of paying back. Someone said that our children will have to pay back, well, we're already paying with 99 years land consessions, all the plantations, mine fields, apartments, casinos, land clearance and kicking people off their land. Folks, don't be naive, the Chinese are just as bad for Cambodia as the Youns, even more dangerous because they have more monies to bribe and paybacks are usually big ownership of our naturual resources. If the Chinese can put Tibet to sleep,what is Cambodia? These Chinese and Viet sharks are shinking their teeth on Khmer flesh. They are the ones having lunches and dinners, we're the victims only, no free lunch folks.
