Cambodia asks Indonesia to urge Thais to withdraw

Published: 27-Mar-12

PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) – Cambodian Foreign Minister Hor Namhong has asked Indonesia to urge Thailand to withdraw troops from a demilitarized border zone, a spokesman said Tuesday.

Koy Kuong (pictured), spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said the request was made in a letter sent to Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa on Monday.

The foreign ministers discussed the issue during Natalegawa's visit to Cambodia in early March. They also discussed deploying Indonesian observers in the zone near the Preah Vihear temple, Koy Kuong said.

In the letter, the spokesman said, Hor Namhong asked Indonesia to urge Thailand to sign an agreement to withdraw its troops from the zone.

Current government mix country patriots with pleasure doesn't matter how cordial current Thai government is it not going to last for ever sooner or latter the Preah Vihear temple will pop up in Thai politics.
Thai have been brainwash for century and it will not fix the matter in 1 year, to solve Preah Vihear issue will take a lot of courage and morality to solve it.do Thai have what it take to achieve peaceful solution , history have proved it Thai prefer to fight than negotiate if Thai was the good neighbor this a little issue wouldn't happen .

Secondly current Cambodian government take the issue to lightly and don't have the deterrence for the Thai to back off as long the issue is die down Cambodian government is doing nothing to solve the issue and let the issue drag on.

Thai have nothing to lose and and may gain enormous benefit from it,Thai always speak without shame or morality " Preah Vihear belong to Thailand".
