Phnom Penh (Rasmei Kampuchea/ANN) - Cambodian Defense Minister Tea Banh (pictured) said Tuesday that border talks between Cambodia and Thailand could resume next week as Thailand had verbally agreed to the dates for the talks.

"I have already sent the official invitation letter to Yuthasak Sasiprapha, the Thai defense minister, advising that we decided to resume the GBC (General Border Committee) meeting on 21-25 December," he told reporters after meeting with the visiting Lao defense minister.

Tea Banh, who is also a deputy prime minister, added that Thailand had already verbally agreed to the requested dates. "We are just waiting for the written agreement from Thailand," he said.

Since June 2008, Cambodia and Thailand have been involved in armed border clashes, especially in the area around the 11th-century Preah Vihear Temple, bringing deaths and damage to both sides.

I think the Cambodian government caved in regarding the border disputes with the Siam, the reasons, probably various speculations, a pretty woman of the Siam PM, Thaksin's buddy buddy, no more money to fund the war, what ever the reasons might be, and what ever the possible agreement is, I'm sure the Siam is always gain, and the Khmer is always lose.

When you have Thaksin as your economic adviser, what does it tell you? If you have your enemies, East and West live in your house, what does it mean to you?
