In this case, Wikipedia is way off with this numbers. Just remember, a few weeks after communist Vietnamese force captured Phnom Pehn in 1979, Vietnamese immigrants started to pour into Cambodia like water broke free the levy. I'm sure Pen Sovan can testified to what he witnessed at that time. Let do some math. We know prior to the Khmer Rouge, Cambodian populations were about 8 millions people. After 1979, about 6 millions left over. Now Cambodia have approximately 14.5 millions people. From 6 millions to 14.5 millions in 30 years, that's impossible. Cambodian didn't repopulate that fast within 30 years. So additional millions of people from somewhere(Vietnam) had to be brought. This can only be concluded that maybe up to 4 millions or more Vietnamese were brought in initially and more later on. Soon they may make up to half of the populations. When that is the case, if they rebelled, Cambodia could be facing a very serious problems.

People must know that Wikipedia is written by amateurs and also edited by amateurs. Anyone can write article in Wikipedia. I think the one who wrote this entry in the Wikipedia that put the number of Vietnamese migrants in Cambodia at 100,000 is a Vietnamese or someone working for the present Hun Sen regime. No body knows how many Vietnamese, legal or illegal, are living in Cambodia. But I am sure that the number is way above 100,000- probably up to 2 million.

It's good and bad at the same time? They're replenishing the population. Most of them speak the language and practice the culture... pretty soon they will forget about theirs, and their parents' motive. The bad side is they will vote for HS&CPP for this generation.
